My pricing model is one yearly fee for unlimited work and hosting, typically £200
I find this much fairer than a payment for every alteration. This way we both know where we stand and your website is never out-of-date.
I charge reasonable prices as WIX, Squarespace, Blocs etc will cost more and they are self-service. With me you’ll have a webdesigner included in the price for less than those self-service hosts. Therefore you don’t need to outsource to India as I know I’ll be more cost effective, efficient, faster and more amenable than them. ALL my websites can be edited by the customer if they so desire. Stuck with WIX, Google or Squarespace? I’ll get you out of their little trap and save you money.
Most designers charge £££ per update after already charging £££ a year. WIX, WordPress.com, Squarespace etc charge £££ and then they expect you to build the website. Some designers say “free website” and charge £££ a year for hosting.
Some customers prefer to keep their own web and domain hosting which is no problem at all.
I charge a transfer in or site building of £50/150. Or if you want to call that “no upfront cost” then £250 a year. No hidden costs. No secret extras. One fee for peace of mind and unlimited work.
Email hosting is complementary which includes webmail (access your email in the browser) or IMAP for Outlook etc. It is upto the customer to maintain their inboxes and backup locally. Each mailbox is 25gigs. You can just have email forwarding, or indeed, no email at all. Many customers prefer Gmail and the like.
